Fransis Dearelle- classic opening act. Played nostalgic tracks to keep the energy floating. Some house and techno drops to change up what will be hours of dubstep
Stoned Level- brought straight riddim to the venue. Displaying sick double drops
Also the first artist of the night to get the standard 8 lasers
The riddim is fire. This audience is receptive to the new collabs from him and the likes of Calcium, Wooli, Gquee, Jeckel & hyde,
Eliminate- Fresh. Electric. Weird. All words to describe the beginning of his set. Sounds that other DJs aren’t touching he’s willing to send it. Technique wise he’s untouched tonight with transition and track selection I would expect from people like him
Visual wise it’s a journey. Starting at level 1 and progressing through his set like a game keeps the experience grounded and not just a rehash of the same 4 or 5 sequences
His sound is so unique compared to the sets of everyone else. Touching experimental sounds and beats to set himself apart from the rest of the artists here. Having a set comprised of his own sounds and not just remixes of hits is another factor that makes Eliminate an artist to watch out for and not deserving of underground status
Being on disciple has given him as an artist the platform needed to reach a wider audience that he definitely deserves
Modestep- OG in his own right. He’s been in the game for years.
His old-school sound brings back waves of nostalgia. His lack of slowing down shows that even OG’s can make waves in a scene that prides itself on that new shit. This dog still has tricks up his sleeve. Mixing his old stuff and new dubstep has the energy in here feeling like he was brand new in the scene
Artists seem to be using DnB to change the tempo of their sets to help wind down the crowd. I like the technique. This helps people know that one artist is done and another is starting.
Funtcase- whos ready for some angry dubstep? Angry dubstep is perfectly on-brand for this OG.
His stage presence is on point. Never stops his own dance moves, and getting down on stage just makes it feel personal and more willing to get down yourself.
Uk dub definitely has the win so far this evening
“Deep down low is the only way to go”
Riot Ten b2b Phaseone-
This b2b seems to be very similar and easy to blend. Which on one hand is beneficial for creating a very specific vibe. Neither is creating an atmosphere that is specifically their brand but rather a seamless blend of (generic) dubstep.
More pauses in this set than iv herd all weekend
Weak transitions into premade edits make the set feel like a practice run. And you can thank riot ten for that
PhaseOne definitely stole the show with better drops and transitions. They both played DnB and only one of them actually pulled it off
Excision-
The different opening sequence to start is a nice change of pace and pretty much straight into the action
His energy coming strat from the gun already cements that the night 2 set takes the win in my books. A lot can be said about how his production is carrying the performance. It’s an audio-visual experience that makes the whole concert worth going to. If you like tons of lasers and some pyrotechnics in your event then the next excision show is not worth missing.
