Louisjayxx- slayed. Started the pits. They did an excellent job being an opening act. the struggle of not going too hard while still exciting enough to get people to want to be there is a line I think they walked well.
Layz- crowd reactions show the love. People are talking about her growth of her from just a few months prior when she played lost lands
The change in music to something super heavy is a switch from her usual routine of weird shit opening for more wonky dubstep artists
Jessica Audifred- highlighting her own visuals is definitely something that sets her apart from the other dubstep artist in this crowd. Making her brand stand out in a very male-dominated industry is crucial to being an incredible performer
Spag heady- his usage of spaghetti-themed visuals is a trademark to the artist and completely on brand. I appreciate that the complete set is not just hardcore dubstep mimicking excision. It keeps the energy fresh. The throwbacks in the set with some cry-banging is an excellent switch to be immediately followed up with that heavy shit
The cohesion between artists has allowed for a night of completely unique sets. I personally only heard one track repeated during the whole evening
Kompany b2b Dion Timmer b2b Calcium –
Visuals are recycled so far so if you’ve been to any of these artists shows in the past 2 years you know exactly what you are getting.
It’s hard to showcase the complete idea of an artist even when it’s just 1 other DJ playing with them so it’s unrealistic to think that you’re getting anything more than the highlight reel when its a b2b2b
Excision- his opening sequence is the same as his Thunderdome opening. This begs the question if one of the most profitable DJs in the industry cant change up the theme or visuals. Is the inflated price for tickets even worth it? The production is absolutely next level. While the openers were allowed 8 different lasers, the man brought out over 30 different laser cannons and pyrotechnics
Mixing up his regular routine of straight dubstep. The bass house in the mix adds an energy that keeps the people moving, especially after hours of heavy sounds and bass.
His willingness to drop drum and bass in a city that the dubstep scene hates is awesome. DnB is incredible music and should be adopted by the bass scene more!

G shit
Overall I think night one of Excision’s event was a great success and was exactly what you can expect from an excision production.
